Missing capacitor C7 ?

Posted by: engeist on

A PI Expert Linkswitch HP design references a C7 capacitor in the BOM, but I am unable to see it on the schematic.

Does anyone know where I am going wrong?

PI Expert file attached.

Thank you

Hi engeist,

C7 is the 2.2nF, 250VAC, Y-capacitor located above T1 on the schematic.

When PI EXPERT GENERATES DESIGN OUTPUT,FOR SOME CORES IT GENERATES SAY EE20/10/6 making the job of locating the core supplier is becoming easier.

But in some cases the design output is EE16,WITHOUT HEIGHT AND THICKNESS INFORMATION.

Hence locating core is difficult because EE16 is available in two different thickness.

can we get the complete part number for the cores.

Sorry, I made a typo. C6 is missing, along with R3 on the schematic.

I understand C6 is for BP programming. What about R3?

Hi engeist,

R3 is part of the RCD clamp.  Because sample time requirements are exceeded in your design, the tool defaults to a TVS clamp, where R3 does not exist.  To see R3 (and C6), you could change the VOR (manually) in the "Design Results" tab from 125V to 115V.  Then, you'll see them on the schematic.
