PI v8.5 run time error
Halo PI support team,
I have successufully installed and created a new design using the new version 8.5, but when I open one of the suggested design...."runtime error" occurrs and the software closed. I tried to re-install the s/w again but in vain. Would there be angthings wrong with my PC. attached is the crash page. Pls advise.

It doesn't matter,...
I cannot save the new design file as once the error pops up, I have to close it and the PI s/w will close as well. Actually I did try arbitrarily creating different designs using the wizard but resulted the same.
I tried the following but also not working:
1.Viris scan ok.
1.Install the newest Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime library.
2.Using the default traditional chinese version of PI suite.
3.Import older version PIDesign.uds. (Ver 8.04)
4.PI Viewer for older version PIDesign.uds does not work...no response.
5.PIXls is working.
My PC is P4 with 1G ram running with XP sp2... required files are attached.

The issue is that you are running Windows XP SP2. We require at least SP3.

Sorry about the troubles you are having with the new version.
Can you attach the file you are trying to open?
Are you working with a 32bit or 64 bit Operating system? Can you tell me your region settings? (from the control panel\region and language, the format information)
If you try to create a new design, save it and then open it, does this work?
