Correct transformers for RDR-142 circuit

Posted by: yilmazz on

Hi,

I want to use http://www.powerint.com/sites/default/files/PDFFiles/rdr142.pdf circuit design. But I have some problems. Can I use this transformers(http://tr.farnell.com/myrra/74010/transformer-5v-12v-12w-e16/dp/1214645)  for this circuit ?

Do you recommend that I can get another transformer for this circuit?

Hi.

I'm not usre if you can use the transformer you were pointing out. RDR-142 is meant for 35W and the transformer you linked to is meant for a maximum of 10W.

On top of that we don't have the number of turns from the datasheet you sent. That is necessary to determine the flux density which will determine whether the transformer could saturate or not. I suggest you contact the transformer manufacturer to get this info.
