paralleling HiperPFS

Posted by: Chuck U Farley on

I have a design that I'd like to use as universal input, but the device needs at least 900W rating.  Fine for the 230V European unit, but 120V only goes to 450W or so.  probably a stupid question, but can the HiperPFS modules be paralleled?

If not, what would be a suitable alternate product/ solution?

thanks, Chuck

You are right about our power ranges that universal family and high line family power table. Put two parallel PFS is as parallel two power supply together, if 1 channel output has any different Vo than the other channel, it will influence PFS feedback and operation.

may I ask what is the application that has universal AC input but require 900W rating? we may not have suitable solution for you. Just want to be sure about your application specific requirement.

without getting too specific, these are basicaly SMPS circuits, specialized application.  we have other designs that operate without PFC that go up to 5kVA.  We need to get a handle on wasted energy to increase the output power, hence the search for a PFC solution.
