LNK3204 power supply FAILS under 1kV Surge immunity

Hello everybody,
we use a LNK 3204 to power supply a IOT sensor. During certification test the power supply FAILS under EN 61000-6-2 industrial 1kV surges. At the moment we use the typical suggested schematic, with few protection components. Do you have any useful experience or suggestion to improve Surge comply? Referring to the attached schematic, we have only added a 275V d14mm varistor connected after the 8,2 Ohm fuse resistor. It is not enough.
Best regards
Francesco
Hello,
Thank you for using PI product. Regarding the surge performance enhancement, a few components could help the design, fuse, thermistor, varistor, common mode choke, differential mode choke, etc. For your design, I would suggest to first try a thermistor at the AC input side and then test the surge again. Please also verify the surge voltage of the input capacitor is sufficiently high to handle 1kV test. Kindly keep us posted if these do not help.
