Planar transformers offer a slim profile, reduced height, and precise manufacturing tolerances, making them ideal for space-constrained applications ranging from consumer electronics to automotive and in-wall systems.

This overview introduces the Planar Magnetics Designer interface, including its customizable workspace, eight-panel layout, and tools for managing design views. Users can organize windows, save and restore layouts, add PCB enclosures, shield and screen windings, and termination pins, as well as reset transformer constructions when needed. The tool also provides access to Gerber file generation, design documentation, and real-time error and warning notifications, helping engineers quickly develop and refine planar transformer designs to meet exact specifications.
