3phase motor

hi all..
I am using DOL(Direct On Line) starter to run the 3phase motor but due to the back EMF i need to connected a snubber (condenser) across the contactor and relay part and one snubber parallel to start button of the starter.Can u pls tell me how can i reduce the back EMF so that i can eliminate snubber .the input is 440v (3phase).
This doesn't sound like a Power Integrations product problem so I'm afraid I can't offer any ideas
