1700V GaN Switch with Adaptive Zero-Voltage Switching for Multi-Output Flyback Converters

During PCIM Asia 2025 in Shanghai, Han Cui gave a poster presentation showcasing a 60W single-stage flyback converter designed for a 90–670 VAC input, utilizing a 1700V GaN switch with adaptive Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS). 

By eliminating DC-DC post regulators, the design achieves better than ±1% regulation accuracy while enhancing efficiency, thermal performance, and EMI. The adaptive ZVS control scheme dynamically adjusts synchronous rectifier (SR) operation to minimize switching losses in the high-voltage GaN primary switch.
