Bridgestone World Solar Challenge kicks off with scrutineering. Dr. John Storey, chief scientist of BWSC explains what judges are looking for during scrutineering and what he loves the most about this event.

One of the teams that passed scrutineering on the first try was aCentauri Solar Racing, whose Silvretta solar race car incorporates a DC-DC converter featuring PowiGaN-based InnoSwitch3-AQ switcher IC, provided by Power Integrations. It achieves 95% efficiency across both light and full loads with a broad output range of 5 to 60 W.
