LNK410EG Problem

Posted by: buacar on

We've designed a 24V 2A driver using LNK410EG (project attached), but for it to regulate at 2A we had to change the R17 from 150Kohms to 220Kohms and we tried to dimmerize but it doesn't work, it flicks and shuts down.
Anticipating this, we placed an order for yhst-91133221706079-1732 from Sample Express, which we received today and was tested but with the same results as before.
Could you tell us what may be wrong?

You can check a few things.

1. based on the spreadsheet, the bias voltage should be 25V, if you change R17 to 220k from 150k, maybe your bias is higher than 25V which could be cause by leaky transformer or wrong turns ratio or poor layout

2. Make sure to follow the layout guidelines

3.Dimming flickering- a lot of reasons can be attribute to flickering and its difficult to guess whats happening on your board and the dimmer you are using. let us know what type of dimmer are you using and give us hint why do you think its flickering. You can attach waveforms. But I suggest before you go into dimming, make sure your power circuit is sound enough (stable with expected results) so problems wont mixed up.
