PI device to take a 30-240VAC input to a constant 24VDC 50VA output

Posted by: highjump2 on

I have a generator with a 8:1 voltage output. If required, we can rewire this generator to either lower or raise the voltage, but it will still be 8:1 due to the RPM range that we must accommodate. This is a 3 phase generator. The DC voltage listed below is generated by running the AC voltage through a Bridge Rectifier. We DO NOT have to use this Rectifier. What is critical is the 24VDC constant output regardless of the input. We also need a minimum output of 25VA at 100RMP, and at about 300 RPM we need a 50VA output. The current design yields the following parameters:

100RPM               30VAC                   40VDC                   (10HZ was measured on the AC side)

200RPM               60VAC                   80VDC

300RPM               90VAC                   120VDC

400RPM               120VAC                160VDC

500RPM               150VAC                200VDC

600RPM               180VAC                240VDC

700RPM               210VAC                280VDC

800RPM               240VAC                320VDC

I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Hi,

Is the output voltage required to be isolated from the input voltage?

Hi,

You may consider using our TopSwitch JX or HX for you design. But no reference design from us available for such a wide and very low minimum voltage input.
