what is the difference between lnk362 and lnk302?
Can I use lnk362 in a non-isolated circuit and lnk302 in a isolated circuit ?

LNK302 is mainly for non-isolated power supply using buck, buck-boost or flyback. LNK302 uses a simplified controller without auto-restart for very low system cost. LNK362 is mainly for flyback topology and can be isolated (with opto-coupler for tight CV,CC) or non-isolated (without opto-coupler for loose CV).

Hi,

I am currently facing some challenges sourcing in local electronics parts shop the IC LNK362PG to replace a failed one from from a PCB.

One of vendors offered LNK364PN and mentionned that itshould be OK.

I have checked the datasheets and there is diference in terms of output power between the 2 IC, which I assume might alter the PCB functionality.

Has someone out done this before??

Can someone confirm IC LNK362PG can be replaced by LNK364PN? Will this induce some modification of the surrounding components??

Looking forward to your feedbacks

Regards

Th.

Hello Nuetacdie,

Thank you very much for using Power Integrations product.

It depend on your design. You may need to change the transformer design, like the current limit of LNK364 is much higher than LNK364, the wire size may need to be optimized and with LNK364, it will be more discontinous mode. the simplest way to check this is use our PIxls tool online and put your design in the tool and let it help you check if it is OK or not. below is the link:
