change of primary inductance with KP

Posted by: Paul_221 on

Hi everyone,
I must used fixed transform with LP 750uH. Is it right, that i changed it by seting KP=0.89 ? What KP influence in my design(except LP)? Thanks.

The value of KP influences the value of Lp as you pointed out. As a result it influences peak current IP also. Higher KP, results in higher IP. Higher KP also results in lower value of NP due to smaller LP.

Thank you.

What the different between the KP and KRP(ripple current IR to peak current IP ratio KRP)?

Dear Tiny.Wang,

KP is the general term for continuity factor. KP=KRP for continuous mode, and KP=KDP for discontinuous mode. For specific definitions, please refer to Figures 9 and 10 in AN-32. Thank you.
