INN3164C Mosfet CD value

Hello PI Support Team,

I am using INN3164C in a project. Can you tell me the mosfet CD value for the transformer formulas? I couldn't find the CD or COSS values in the datasheet.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please refer to Figure 23 (Coss vs Drain voltage curve) of InnoSwitch3-CE datasheet for the drain capacitance value.

Hello PI-Heidi,

According to Figure-23, when I calculated the scaling factor for INN3164C as 1.95pF, I found approximately 3x1.95=5.85pF for Drain voltage 550V. Can you confirm this?

Could you share the calculation formulas for transformer design for INN3164C?

The drain capacitance calculations seem correct to me. 

Regarding the transformer and power supply design, we recommend you to use our PI Expert Online tool [PI xls tool].

When using PI Expert, we choose my maximum frequency at minimum voltage and full load for transformer calculation? I'm asking to confirm this.

Hello Arge,

 

Yes, the power supply switches at the maximum frequency with full load, low input voltage and minimum primary inductance tolerance.
