EMI Reduction

HI Everybody.
I am designing an AC DC converter using LN306.
According with the datashet, in the recommended printed circuit layout figure, there is a hatched area where all the S pins are conected,
My question is: These pins need a thermal pad? or in this case is not neccesary?
I attach a picture of my design with thermal pad.

Hi.
I made the design with 3.3Volts and 400mA. Since I dont finish the circuit, I dont know the real power, But I guess is going to be about 1 Watt.
Is your design working?
It depends on the temperature rise spec for your design. Perform a thermal test with your existing design at worst case condition , see if the temprature rise is acceptable. What's the output power that you are designed for?
