PIXls for HiperLCS

Posted by: mdeluca on

PIXls does not seem to produce a Xfmr design for HiperLCS; does this simulator not work for LLC designs? No matter what I enter into the shaded fields (input column) I get "Transformer does not exist" on the bottom status line. I seem to get operating conditions in the output column, but all I get for Xfmr physical parameters is core size. Is this normal or am I missing a basic step? Is there no schematic either?

Pls. attach your PIXLS file.

Unfortunately PIXLS cannot handle negative output voltages. You can put in a single output, 80 V, 4.8A, to help you design the resonant tank and the primary of the transformer. Then the calculated secondary currents will be double of what you will actually get.

I tried single output as well, makes no difference. I still do not get any Xfmr design details just operating conditions; the message "Xfmr design does not exist" remains.

look at bottom status line of your file - "Transformer design does not exist"

So how do I get a Xfmr design created?

Try to edit the Xfmr; click on the pull down menus :

>Active Design>Transformer>Core and Bobbin

and you will see these are non operative menus.

So in other words this S/W does not allow me to create an actual transformer physical design even though there are menus that makes it look like it does.

Is that correct?

Those submenus are grayed out because those features are not implemented for HIperLCS.
