How to implement soft start in lnk364.

I am using LNK364 in one of our product. Drain source getting damaged during validation testing. Any idea about such failures.

You indicate that you are using LNK364 so I assume you are using a Flyback circuit configuration?
the only two conditions I can think of which could lead to failure of the part are:
1. Incorrect winding termination ( for the converterter to operate as a flyback the start and end of the primary and secondary winding have to be connected in a certain way - please refer to the reference schematic in the datasheet)
2. More likely - Insufficient clamp/snubber on the drain. Depending on the leakage reactance of the transformer, a suitable RCD/ RCDZ snubber should be used to limit the drain voltage at turn-OFF of the MOSFET. If the drain voltage is allowed to go beyond rated limits, the part will fail by avalanche breakdown.

I'm doing a product to charge a NiCd/NimH battery in the same eletronic circuit and I was seeing that you have a IC that might attempt this application. I would know if you have a specific IC for this application or can we use LNK364? Do you have an application note that I can follow to build this project?

We have multiple products that are suitable for battery charging applications. LNK364 can also be used.

Generally power supplies based on ON-OFF control do not need a soft start and they achieve a graceful startup with practically no overshoot.
If you can provide more details (startup waveform of your power supply) and schematic and also explain in detail why you feel the need of soft start, we can help you to configure your circuit accordingly.
