how to convert non dimmimg drive LNK406EG to dimmimg module with PWM input from PIC controller

Posted by: alpeshpatel283 on

Dear All,

I have develop non dimmimg LED driver using LNK406EG  but we have to make dimming using pwm  and pwm input from PIC controller or any microcontroller,

Please let us know how to dimmimg it and required change in circuit and how to connect active load in output side

Thanks

Hi

Pls read DER-263

http://www.powerint.com/sites/default/files/PDFFiles/der263.pdf

This is an analog to pwm dimming. If you're going to use micro, you just need to feed the output to the diode side of the photocoupler. No need to implement the PWM  block in DER-263.

Hi Dunwell

Thanks for your reply.

is ther required active load and opto couplert PWM out put direct connect with D10 Diode as per refrence design DER-263?

Your question is not clear. But if youre asking if the active load is required, it depends on your target dim ratio. If you want to achieve 10:1 or more dim ratio, active pre load is required.
