EPR-85 Transformer / LNK564

Posted by: RCMJr on

Am using the reference design as-is; getting layout done.  Used transformer size on eval board to select enclosure, when sourcing this part through CWS the part is significantly larger ( taller ) . . . . . what source(s) of this part are the same / similar mechanically to the one on the eval board ?  Who makes the transformer supplied on the eval board ?

Hi,

You can give the specificaton of the transformer from the EPR - 85 to the transformer supplier, you should be abel to get the right transformer if they follows the spec.

We provide rapid transformer service too, please refer to the following link:

http://www.powerint.com/en/design-support/component-suppliers

You could also find the supplier list in the link. Hope this is helpful.

I looked at one of the sources in the ref design; I have no doubt that it is the electrically correct part and it is available.  However, it is significantly larger than the one on the eval board.  Too big ( tall ) for my enclosure . . . I'd like to buy the one like in the eval kit . . . . . I know that will fit.  Does anyone know who supplies that part for the eval kit ?  Would save me chasing half a dozen foreign suppliers for spec sheets . . . .

Hi,

Did you use the EE16 core? Please refer to the Bill of Material (page 10 in the report), you can find the assembeled unit available providers of the T1.

Hope this addressed your question.
