DI-152, TinySwitch III, 18-265VAC, 3W

Posted by: maxjosel on

Hello,

I'm  looking for a design with 18-265VAC input voltage range like design idea DI152 from Power integrations, but with a power of 7W.

DI-152 is a tinyswitchIII design and has only 3W!!

Does anybody know how to get 7W?

If it is not possible, does anybody know how to get it with an other PI chip?

Thanks a lot

José

You need to use a Tiny switch device family

Create a design using PI expert and enter your VINMIN as low as the program would allow you to enter

Selec an oversize device. In other words select a device that can handle much more power than the power you need

Then add the extra circuits for the supply to run at very low VIN

Test your device. If you can get 10 % more of your desired power at VINMIN, then you are safe about the tolerances of the circuit.

You can download PI exper following the below link

Thank you very much but I'm new with PI expert and I don't know how to add new components

Could you help me, please?

Thanks a lot

You do not add the components in PI expert environment.  You add the componets to your peototype aftre you created a design and you know it is working properly
