Pinout lnk304 -306

Posted by: dgvol on

I have 2 lnk304pn and 2 lnk306pn P: DIP-8. Pin 2,3,7,8 is short circuit. Pin 1 have resistence about 700 kOm relatively pin 2,3,7,8. What does it means ?: chips damaged or there is another pinout for this chips. Pin 1,2,7,8 must be short circute in according data sheet. Thanks in advance, Dmitrii

Yes, 1,2,7,8 should read short as they are all tied to source. Your readings don't make much sense. All of these devices are tested and so internal wiring to pins must be correct. It is possible they are damaged but if two devices have same problem before being installed in board I am at alloss as to what is happening. Makes no sense.

Thanks. Six chips has the same redings (2,3,7,8 read  short). May be this chip electrostatic sensitive ? And may be

pin 1 has weak link with souce ? "I am at alloss as to what is happening"-what does it means another words. There is no "alloss" in dictionary.

Sorry -- mispelling "at a loss" is what meant to say

I just measured ten parts and they look OK..

For what you are saying, the source bond wire from pin 1 would have to open  for all six devices but the other source connections for the other pins never open. Also, pin 2 which is bypass pin would have to fail short for all six devices. The chances for electrostatic discharge to be the cause for the  failure for all six devices is zero. There must have been some kind of forced damage at your site for such a repeating problem
