LNK616 dual output

Posted by: Juggie on

I am starting a design process for a dual output AC/DC power supply.

PSU specs are:

90-265 VAC input

Output 1: 5V / 0,7A

Output 2: 24V / 0,1A

I am thinking of using LNK616 for the design, because I would not have to use a optocoupler.

Is there any reason not to use this component and what could be the alternative?

In this kind of application, can I get the no load consumption below 50mW without external bias winding in the transformer?

How much regulation do  you need?   if you need tie load regulation and your loads change from max load 1 while no load 2 then it may be a challenge to meet your regulation. In that case you will need a power supply with opto fedback.

Thank you for your reply.

Outputs doesn't have wery tight regulation, because both have post regulation, so I I'll give this a go

Ok Then

I think is better you use LNK CV family.  This family is to be used in CV mode only (Constant Voltage).  The LNK616 is to be used in CV and CC mode but since you need only CV then a LNK CV is a better choice.

Yes, I don't need the CC mode, so I will focus using the Link CV family

Thank you
