LNK302 based power supply blowing capacitor at start up

hi 

 

we have used your LNK302 for a light dimmer. it is working as expected. but some times capacitor c2,c5 are getting damaged one by one. design is attached for your reference. pls let us know the reason for it.

PLS check the polarity of these two caps first. If the polarity is correct, i guess the blew up were caused by thermal. Try to find input caps with lower ESR, or use bigger capacitor to handle the ripple/thermal.

I suggest you searching them at mouser. They have a lot of choices. They will give you a long list based on  size, voltage, temperature range and capacitance range, then you can pick one with lower ESR.
