12 volt design output is 16v

Posted by: karthik.rajan on

Dear all,

We have designed a 12 volt dc  3 amps power supply by using Pi expert  but the output   is 16v.

Plesae help us to how to reduce or increase our desired voltage or current by using PI Expert

The output is 16 volts in the power supply?  is it what you mean?   After you built the power supply, you measure your output voltage and you have 16 volts instead of 12. Am I right?

If this is the case, when is when you are measuring your VOUT?  Do you have 16 volts at no load or at full load?   With VIN maximum or Minimum?

Please clarify.

Please post your PI expert transformer design and your schematic

Dear worf,

yes,we are building a power supply of 12V dc with 3 amps output.

Yes we are measuring the VOUT with no load at 230AC with 50 hz.

Here iam attached the both..please check and provide your suggestions and correction.

Change R8 to 1 K   this change will increase your DC gain. If the supply is working properly then you should see a substantial improvement in output  regulation
