PI Expert startup error message
I recently downloaded PI Suite 8.6. It installed without any errors. i am using Win XP Professional 2002 OS.
But when i try to run the program, it says "PI Suite Notification-5, Problem:Please contact piexpert@powerint.com". If i just ok it and proceed, the rest functions normally.
Will the program give the right values in this case? how to rectify the error?
Please advise. Thanks.

I have the same problem in PI EXPERT 8.6 I do your comments but it does not work. When I tried 25-265 V AC design I get notification error. and could not exceed this step..
Hi
In your particular case I can say that the reason for this error is the choice of the 25VAC as the minimum input. We are working to make the error a bit more descriptive for cases like yours.
A way around this is to select a DC input. I do not know which family you are trying to use, but if you select the TOPSwitch-JX the software will require at least 36VDC (datasheet value that guarantees correct operation independent of junction temperature, you can go lower than 36 but only if your temperature stays below a certain threshold).
Another alternative is to use PIXLS. There you will get a warning, but you can proceed with the calculations. Keep in mind that this voltage level your maximum power is severely limited, particularly if you need it for a ver low voltage AC input.
I try to check and revise the transformer design of DI152
first I want to calculate the transformer specifications given in this Design Idea with PIIXI or PIEXPERT.. Then when I understand how the design done, I can change the design due to my output needs..
But I can't design this transformers with PIEXPERT since it gives error and then by PIIXI I tried and I have to enter VDC min in order not to see any error but in this way I don't know which parts(KP,Vori L etc.) should be adjusted to which value? in order to achieve the same design, since there is not detailed information in DI152, If we can achieve, approximately we will buy 50K pieces of TNY280GN per year, but since we could'nt design the system, we loose time,
Can any one help me to design 18-265 VAC input, 5V 0.5A and 5V 0.2 A double isolated output design with these design programs? like DI152.. ALso I could not find how to isolate two outputs electrically, I don't want any common ground or something between them.. The PIIXI always give stacked output which is not accepted..
Can you help?
Hi
You certainly need to use PIXLS to do your project. By manually adding VDCmin all you are doing is bypassing the capacitor calculations, so as long as your minimum voltage is accurate value everything around the transformer (VOR, KP, Max duty cycle, etc) will be accurate as well.
As for technical support with your particular project, please respond to the private message I am about to send you.

Hi
Sorry about your issue with PIExpert.
Please attempt the following procedure:
1. open “Control Panel/Programs and Features”, select PIExpert Suite and run “Repair” installation option
2. When “Repair” is finished the option “Check for Updates PIExpert Suite” should show up the first time you run, and (hopefully) your problem will be solved
