Common line Power supply needed-help me
hi,
I want to replace the RC based transformer less power supply with your PI product. Please see the attached file for RC based common line power supply.we are manufacturer of motion sensor. Our project need this type of power supply. Is it possible to make common line power supply with your PI product? I request you to provide some suggestion.

Sir,
That is wrong. I need AC to DC conversion,Non isolated power supply. But I need COMMON LINE(PHASE)Power supply for triac dimming application. Is it possible any ideas? Otherwise ,Is PI not suitable for common line power supplies? Waiting for your reply..
Can you further explain what you mean by COMMON LINE?Is there anything special about it?
We have controllers for offline non isolated (and isolated) TRIAC dimmable LED Drivers using LinkSwitch-PH and LinkSwitch-PL. We have complete engineering reports using buck, buck-boost, tapped buck designs for non-isolated designs. Pls visit the site
Sir,
Thanking you. Did you see my document triac_RC.pdf ?. the Ac line(PHASE) is directly connected to 5V Dc output through Zener.the neutral line is connected with R and C components. Please see the attached Image. the AC (PHASE ) is Directly connected with 5 VDC output of Power Supply. If we measure the DC voltage in AC Phase,It will shows 5V. It is necessary .Is any possible?
So my understanding is you need the + output rail in common connection with the phase?
I guess this is possible if you use a low side buck or high-side buck-boost and using half-wave rectification, with the rectifier diode on the neutral side of the ac. Pls refer to page 6 of the datasheet of LinkSwitch-TN and look for the low side buck and high-side buck-boost configuration. Pls see attached link.

Sir,
Thanking you so much. Yes! . this is the correct schematic. I want to use high side buck boost. I want to remove the one of the rectifier diode(Din2)on the input site (Figure 1(b) of AN37.) which is connected to that common line. will cause any problem to PI switch?. Is possible to design this circuit by PI Expert Software?. awaiting for your response!.
Din2 is optional for inproving emi and surge performance, so you can remove it. Yes its included in PIXls design software, pls download it if you dont have one yet.

Hi,
Correct me if I am wrong in understanding your request. You want to know if you can use PI part in transformer-less power supply. I don't think if we can use PI device in a linear regulator set-up.
If you are looking for AC-DC switching power supply for 5V output, we can surely help you.
Please refer to some of our design notes http://www.powerint.com/sites/default/files/PDFFiles/der279.pdf.
