AN-37 missing information on fusible flammable resistors for SMD

Posted by: AdenToom on

Hi,

I'm working on a nonisolated wide input voltage (Mains 85V to 265V) and low power design about 0.2W to 0.6 W.
The application note for the LNK30x states that the design can be created in SMD only.

Well, I'm trying to find non-flammable fusible SMD resistors according to Table 9 on page 8 since two days for now, ended up with tyco only and they do not provide a statement for applicable voltage inside datasheet (support did not answer that fast ..).

Anybody to help me out of this by pointing me to the right manufacturer/series for the 8.2Ohm (10 will do as well) and the 100Ohm resistors in SMD?

your help is very much appreciated...

thanks for reading up to here and best regards,
A. den Toom

For information like that, we can not help a lot. I believe you can find it by yourself.

Sorry about that.

If PI doesn't know,- how they can state in AN-37 that it is possible to do?
Setting up a statement and not being able to proove it is not very professional ;-).

puzzled...

If you need through hole part, I can found it very quick.

Hi,

I was able to find through hole parts myself within minutes,- but I did not state it's possible to have SMD design, which is my task.

Sorry about that. It is impossible for us to support everything for our customer.PLS understand!

Hi Cochrane,

so as a consequence you should update AN-37 and state that pure SMD design only was a bad guess...
