TOPSWITCH Part

Posted by: rjocson on

Our company is currently using a TOP221PN in our PC Boards. It appears the part is already in the Product Archives. Does this mean it is not in production any more? Is there a substitute or replacement part for this?

This part is an old part but it is still in production and there are no plans to obsolete this part yet.

We are currently using the TOP210PN in an existing product line, we made a large EOL buy but we will be running out of stock of this part in a couple of months. It appears that TOP221PN could be a drop in replacement, but the question I have is about PIN 6, our PCBs have left PIN 6 unconnected because the TOP210 didn't need it but with the TOP221PN does this pin have to be connected or is it just used for additional heat sinking?

Thanks for Posting your question into forum , we appreciate your time and patience. Sorry for the delayed response.
TOP221PN,Pin 6 is Source, it doesn't need to be connected as long as if the other Source Pins are connected. The additional is used for Additional Heat Sinking.

We are having failures with a capacitor (C14) with a TOP250YN circuit from a big customer. I would like someone to look at the circuit schematic from your company and see if they have any suggestions. See attachment
