Switch Mode Power Supply Design

Posted by: tomw on

Quite new and I am interested to learn SMPS design particularly for low power (1-25W output). Can anyone in this forum guide me through and provide technical references from beginner level?

Thank you and glad to be part of this forum!

You can find some text books to get familiar with some basic topologies and magnetic design. We have many products with integrated controller and MOSFET to cover your desired power range. You can find many applications note at our website, especially AN-16 and AN-17, which give you step by step guidance for power supply design.

HI,

we are manufacturing Energy meters products. Kindly suggest design file with industrial standard for following specification

SMPS1:

Output1: 5V/600mA

 Output2: ±15V/400mA (common Gnd)

i tried by PI Expert online tool for create new design with require specification different output and separate gnd.  But different output have same ground. How to select separate gnd?

what is Bias selection?

Requires Specification:

OUTPUT1: 5VDV / 500mA

OUTPUT2: 5VDV / 250mA

OUTPUT3: 15VDV / 400mA

pls, suggest recommended circuits

Hi Paneerrajan,

We would like to understand what exactly you are referring to term" Separate GND". If you are using the Bias winding, the bias winding GND is to be Primary GND. Are you using Isolated flyback or Non Isolated Flyback. If you want to use secondary Separate GND, rout the secondary GND's in lay out. Please go through one of our DER's . We can refer one, what product are you using?
