Spice model support

Posted by: jgbyers1 on

From my search on the subject, I can only assume that Power Integrations do not have any plans for supporting any Spice models of their switching regulator chips. Is this true? There are many others out there that rely on Spice to minimize breadboard bench work and to optimize their designs. The PIExpert has its limitations since it does not do any time domain analysis with real (simulated) waveforms. A Spice model can be a real help for optimizing the filter circuit.

You are right. We are constantly reviewing the issue of providing Spice models and we'll definitely take your inputs into account when we review this topic the next time.

I agree that the PIExpert is a good tool but I could realy need a SPICE model of the IC's. I think it is at absolutly good way for you to support you IC's to realease the SPICE models.
