led Driver
Hi,
Can I use TOPHX in place of TOPGX series for led DRIVER
My wattage is 60 W .
I am refering to to PI'S DER136 (75W)

Many thanks for the reply.
I know about Pin outs.
I was just wondering whether the control pin functioning is same or not ? since for PFC there is one transistor and capacitor is introduced . will the two IC's will function similarly with the changes that are introduced for PFC?
I also do not know whether GX series can be used for future designs or not ! since on the website in product range GX is not there!

The control pin on the GH & HX parts have the same functionality and for the most part pretty similar PWM gain as well as other data sheet parameters for these parts. It should be a fairly simple matter of moving your design over to the new part but it would be a good idea to go back through and verify your control loop.
Another good sanity check would be to use our PI Expert software with the new IC you'd like to use and configure all the additional options and features that you'd like to use. This should give you an idea of what components will need to change with the design.
Another important thing to look at when choosing this replacement device will be to double check the peak drain current in the datasheet for the device you're using. If you're already pushing your transformer kind of hard, you'll need to be careful about not saturating your transformer by picking a device with a higher current limit. The external current limit pin should give you some flexibility in this area.

As a direct, drop-in replacement no...TopSwitch GH and HX have difference pin-outs.
Going forward, either GH or HX can be used in a CC mode LED driver application. Just check the "LED Driver" box when configuring your output.
