How to increase the Wattage of DPA425R from 10 Watts to 25Watts, Vin20-60V DC
Hi
How to increase the Wattage of DPA425R from 10 Watts to 25Watts, Vin 20-60V DC,
with multiple output of +12V, -12V, 5V, Bias Winding. Suggest me to how to increase existing wattage to 25 Watts. Is any change i can make in Control pin C of DPA425R.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply,
Redesigning means, only the Transformer core size increases i can increase the wattage or suggest me for any other change, Vin 20-60V DC, for 25 Watts, I have tried with pi-expert-design-software, but it is showing under voltage error, even for 10 Watts. If I want to change the transformer suggest the transformer configuration windings & core size. Please help me to make power supply.
Thanks

Hi,
In order to increase the power rating from 10W to 25W, you have to reconsider the following things,
1. Snubber Circuit Design
2. Transformer Design
3. Secondary Rectification Diode
4. Output Capacitor RMS Ripple Current Rating
5. Input Capacitor RMS Ripple Current Rating and Hold-up requirement etc.
You are getting error with PI expert design software because your input voltage range is exceeding the DPA switch preset UV/OV ratio (The ratio of OV and UV thresholds is preset at 2.7, please refer to line over voltage section in the datasheet). In order to overcome this problem you have to disable UV/OV in the design file. After disabling the UV/OV section in the design file, start optimization again. This time you should get your design with out any errors.

Hi,
I am not sure of voltage and current ratings of the devices that are used in your design. If the converter has been designed for 10W, then increasing the power rating to 25W might give trouble with thermal performance. You might have to redesign the power supply to take thermals into account.
Our PIExpert design software can help you with the design. You can download PIExpert from our website at free of cost.
