24VDC input, 3 outputs, 4,5 W

Posted by: aj26 on

Hello!I need a scheme with following requirements:

24 VDC input, three outputs:
5VDC output (0.5A current)
2.5 VDC output (0.2 A current)
3VDC output (0.5A current)

Any ideas, please?
Thank you!

Hello aj26,

You need to use our PIExpert design software (it is free). We do provide quite a few tutorials on our web page for using this design interface, although it is quite straight forward to understand it.

Thank you for your answer! I know about this programm. The thing is it gives a very strange results. It gives a solution in DPA family for 24VDC input while it is said in the datasheet that this family doesnt work with such a small VDC input voltages...

Hello aj26,

Data sheet http://www.powerint.com/sites/default/files/product-docs/dpa_family_datasheet.pdf page 25:
Supply Voltage Characteristics, DRAIN Supply Voltage = 16V with note D: It is possible to start up and operate DPA-Switch at DRAIN voltages well below 16 V. However, the CONTROL pin charging current is reduced, which affects start-up time, auto-restart frequency, and auto-restart duty cycle. Refer to Figure 45, the characteristic graph on CONTROL pin charge current (IC) vs. DRAIN voltage for low voltage operation characteristics.
Read the specifications and look trough various examples, you can do it.

Thank you so much for your in-time advice! I'll look through it carefully!

I wonder if there is a need to use linear stabilizator after the scheme the programm gave... In this case i have to increase outputviltage because of voltage drop...
