TOP256EN - Problems with current

Posted by: gleisonsalvador on

I did the project "Universal Input, 12 V at 30 W Output", and in the project the output current is 2,5A but my maximum output current is 0,83A and i don't know why it is happening. I already change the values of Pin (x) Resistors e nothing happen with the value current.

Can sameone halp me or give me a hint?

Thank's for all

Check something for me.
close to 0.8 A wmeasure the peak primary current with a current probe abd see if this is close to the current limit ILIMIT in the PI Expert file.
Perhaps you have an incorrect resistor between X pin and S pin.

I checked the peak primary current, it's close to the curret limit.
Do you think could be the temperature? i put a heatsink but it's a little hot.

If its close to the current limit then that explains why you cannot deliver the power... You probably have in correct design or incorrect X pin resistor. PLs send me your PI Expert or PIXls design file and I'll take a look.

When you say "its getting hot" How hot do you mean? Did you measure with thermocouple?
