TOP256EN

Posted by: gleisonsalvador on

I'm in doubt as incresing my DC output current for 2,5A. I did the project "Universal Input, 12 V at 30 W Output", and i used Top256EN instead of TOP245Y. At the moment my DC current is limitted to 0,83A and I don't know why it is happening. I already changed the resistor at the pin (X) EXTERNAL CURRENT LIMIT but nothing happens.

Have some calc that I can make to know which resistor I should put in this pin to get 2,5A in my output current?

Thanks for the help!

I am sorry but I can not understand your problem.

The maximum power of TOP256EN is 80W even with 85VAC input, and there should be no problem for 30W output.

Try to connect X pin and F pin to source pin and see whether it could resolve the issue.

My problem is, i did the project "Universal Input, 12 V at 30 W Output", and the output current in the project is 2,5A, but my output current is 0,83A and i don't know what it is happening. I changed the pin X resistors and my output current remained 0.83A.

Can sameone help me?

Thank's for the help.

It all depends on your transformer design.

It is recommended to run PI Expert to have optimum tranformer design and TOPswitch selection.
