TOP243YN X pin

Posted by: viviana on

in the circuit that PI's software calculates the "X" pin has been left unconnected, but in datasheet is grounded or connected to ground through a resistor. What can I do?

Hi,

You are correct. The X pin should be grounded when not in use. If you are using current limit reduction (also called KI limiting) the software will calculate an X pin resistor value that you connect from the X pin to ground.

Could you please be more specific about where you are seeing this in the software? Possibly attach a screen shot? This should not be the case.

Hi Wesley,
this is the project I'm talking about. I'm sending it in pdf.
In page 2 of pdf file there is no mention to X pin, and in page 4 X pin is no connected. I was trying find the solution using the software but I couldn't.

That is correct. The graphics in the report are static and do not necessarily represent the exact circuitry to use.

That said since KI = 1 the correct thing to do is simply ground the X pin.

I hope this clarifies things.
