TOP242GN low Over Temp Protection
Hello,
we are a power supply manufacturer where we use a TOP242GN device as auxiliary voltage. We did not have any temperature problem from 4 years ago, but today we have a new TOP242 shipment with a very low temperature protection: this device protects at 85ºC (measured in the top of body) and old TOP 242 protects at 115ºC, measured using the same method.
Can be this device a false copy? It is marked as M827, TOP242GN, 55601B, but it is marked in white color silk! All we have used ever are marked using laser, not white ink. I can send you a pic.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I can give you some more information: I attach the label placed in the reel and a picture of a single IC.
Please, we apreciate some information about the premature protection matter to taka a decission ASAP, because all devices we manufacture from 4 years ago work without problems and with this new IC we can not work due to the temperature protection.
Thx in advance.
sent you a private message. Will look into this.

Hi,
I attach 2 pictures of both TOP242GN devices. The "Bad.jpg" have a white silk reference and has a temperature protection very low and the "Good.jpg" is marked using laser and it is the correct.
Please, can you confirm both devices are original products from PI?
We have had some bad experience in other products from ST or ON, and we need to be sure this matter can be normal.
BR.
