Help required for 10W LED driver

Posted by: sundark on

Hi,
I am a newbie in Power supply design and was developing a design for 10.5v/1A LED Driver using PIExpert Software. I am not seeing any voltage at the secondary of the transformer. Kindly inform me if I have to take any other precautions other that those mentioned in the winding instructions. Also mention if I have to add any load at the output for testing(I believe the output must have 10.5V under no load condition). I have skipped the EMI filtering part for initial design purposes. I have used the same parts as mentioned and advised. I have attached the design produced by the software for the reference.

The design will regulate output voltage down to zero load with no problems.

Did you use a PCB to build the power supply?

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, I built the circuit on the general purpose board and soldered all the components. The components were taken with the nearest value available which I am now aware is a big mistake. Still the secondary must have generated at least millivolts which is not the case.

Also, I followed the circuit schematic which is generated by PI Expert software. I have skipped the EMI filtering part for the moment. Does this have any problem on the basic circuit operation?. I am not using any snubber circuits also.

Can you put a scope probe on the Drain pin?

Did you follow general PSU PCB design guidelines? (tight loop areas, etc)

No, I did not follow any layout rules except that all the components are tightly incorporated in a very small real-estate
