FET Switching losses calculation?

Posted by: treez on

Hello,

I wish to do a 15W TOPswitch flyback for 230VAC mains input.

I wish to calculate the expected switching losses in the FET before implementing the prototype.

Do you know how I do this?

you can find this information in any power electronics text book.

hello,

unfortunately this cannot be achieved with any textbook, because the information that is needed is the Q(D) and G(G) and Q(SW) and V(th) figure for the internal MOSFET inside the TOPSwitch.

This link (on page 2) gives a good guide as to how to calculate switching losses in SMPS FETs.

This data is not provided in textbooks, -also, this data is not present in the TOPSwitch datasheet.

-Please can you provide this data for the FET inside the TOPSwitch so that we can calculate the switching loss?

My apologies, i mispelled Q(G) as "G(G)" in above post.

-The point is, MOSFET data is needed to calculate switching loss, -how can we get this data?
