Hi,
Is it possible for TOPSwitch-HX to work at 35 VAC input delivering power of around 16W continuously ? And the working range should be from 35 to 625 VAC. for input range till 625 VAC i have planned to use stackfet configuration. will this design work?

How to choose the MOSFET for the stackFET configuration?
Whether only drain to source voltage and current capacity should be considered for the series MOSFET in stackfet? please reply
Yes. The datasheet specifies 18V minimum drain supply voltage if Tj < 85 degree C and, otherwise, 36V. Please refer to page 37 of the datasheet regarding this information. As for the input voltage up to 625Vac, you can StackFET configuration as what you've already mentioned.
