I do not need all the power available on the EE25 core but I want to keep an off the shelf transformer design, because of a low volume production (<1000pcs/year) and fast prototyping.
My design is a 3 outputs + aux for TNY266 (or maybe TNY268 if needed) with roughly :
- +5V 1A
- +15V 0.5A
- +15V 0.5A (isolated)
I have already a prototype with TNY266 + MYRRA 74030, but it does not want to start ! Keep staying in auto-restart, even with a very low power configuration (5V/0.1A, +15V/0.140mA, +15V/0.1A).
Question : how to put the transformer details in PI Expert, it seems that turns for example are calculated only and can not be fixed ?
The datasheet provided does not give any electrical characteristics that are needed for entering the core into PI Xls. If you can get the necessary information (Ae, Le, Al and BW), you can use VOR and NS (secondary turns) to adjust the number turns since VOR is just VO*NP/NS, where NP is the number of primary turns.
Following these steps will allow you to design with PI Xls. You can also use the transformer data to add a new core and bobbin into PI Expert and then use PI Expert to design the power supply.
Do you have a schematic of the power supply that is in auto-restart? Perhaps there is a problem not related to the transformer.

Yes is possible to create a design using this transformer with the TNY266P. However an EE25 is a large transformer for TNY266P. Also if you choose an off the shelf transformer many design parameters now become fixed and are specifications which reduces your ability to truly design to your specifications.
Could you provide more details about your design? Input voltage range, output voltage, output current and any other relevant specifications.
The datasheet I found for this part also does not include all the information you would need to design using PI Xls (most importantly primary number of turns, secondary turns). So to move your design further you would need that information from the manufacturer.
