RDK-142 for 3-phase

Is it possible to modify RDK-142 so that it can be used on a three phase system? Can I just use the 8-diode bridge and stackFET design for the input? Thanks.

Hi Crusher,
Thanks for the reply. Aside from the EMI filter, any other things to look out for like capacitor voltage or resistor limits?
Thanks,

That's absolutely necessary. You have to check every single component rating, not capacitors only.

Hello ljarillas,
Absolutely, you can modify RDK-142 for three phase systems. You have to pay attention to a few details. StackFET gives you the extra voltage margin you need, but the example we have is for low power. That means for higher power designs you must add and test a three phase EMI filter between the AC grid and your bridge rectifier, capable to reduce the EMI interference to acceptable limits. You can use an off the shelf 3-phase EMI filter to experiment with your prototype and see haw to design one, but you will need access to an EMI test setup.
