Top switch HX, GX and tinyswitchIII

Posted by: bren on
Good day! I am a beginner in smps designing, i would like to ask, are the TopswitchHx, GX and tinyswitchIII all short circuit protected (i mean, the spms will not be damaged when i short circuit continously the + and - terminal of the smps)? if yes, then, what are the bias that i should add to its basic circuit to assure that it will not be damaged? Don't worry friend...yes it is short circuit protected. no need to add anything. it is protected due the feature of auto-restart mode. when the feedback current exceeds certain level, it sets itself in auto-restart and once you remove the short circuit, it starts working fine. pls do check the reference notes if desired.

Thanks. I will try to short circuit it permanently. I will check what will happen.

Don't worry...even if u keep it short for long time, once u will remove the fault, then also it would start...ITS PI product i believe.
