LED DRIVER using lytswitch-4

Posted by: UBn on

i want to develop a led driver (50W) no dimming, using the LYT4228E,
for the transformer we used "PI DESIGNER SUITE" to designe it ,i got the attached information.

i have some questions please
1-can the typical flyback circuit (in the datasheet) guarantee the good functionality of the lyt4228e without any change
2-there is an equivalent for this transformer (attached) in the market ? ( same parameters and number of pins)

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Power Integrations LED driver products.
To answer your questions:
1- Yes, given that you would employ no dimming in your circuit, the typical flyback circuit in the datasheet should suffice for basic functionality. Of course this does not include other considerations such as EMI, PF, and such. An application example is provided in the datasheet. You can refer to that for your design.
2- Yes there are available bobbins and cores for EI40 which are 8, 10, or 12 pins. The only requirements needed in the design are 4 primary pins and 2 secondary pins so these should suffice. Below is one example available in the market.
