LinkSwitch-TN buck converter minimum and maximum output voltage

What is the minimum and maximum possible output voltage for the LinkSwitch-TN in a high-side buck (direct feedback) circuit, like the one shown in figure 5 on page 4 of the datasheet? If the limits depend on the input voltage, what is the relationship? And what factors lead to these limits?

Hello,

The LinkSwitch-TN does not have a table or something similar that explicitly gives the minimum/maximum output voltage since limits like these depends on various factors like the input voltage like you mentioned but also the combination of output voltage and current and device size because if you require too much of either then the device's maximum duty cycle might not be able to provide it. The sizing of the other components in the design could affect these values as well.

What I would recommend is using our PI XLS tool to generate a sample design for the LinkSwitch-TN and place your required output voltage and current. If no warnings are issued by the tool, then the target output voltage and current at the current input voltage should be fine.  I have made an initial PI XLS design that you can use as a starting point. I will link it below. Change the input and output values based on your targets and see if any warnings will pop up.

Please note that the LinkSwitch-TN is an active product with a newer version available. If you are making a new design, then I would recommend using the LinkSwitch-TN2 instead. I will link the product page and a sample PI XLS design below.
