Help me to solve AC current leakage out of the SMPS.
Hello,
Lets discuss about my problem -
I am making a power supply to power Audio instrument having 12V 1.25A rating across the output.
The circuit is attached.
The circuit works fine but when I touch the wire or the equipment that is powered by the SMPS I feed a electrical shock sensation and the neon tester is glowing.
What I have done, as shown in the image, I have added a inductor that connectes the earth with the secondary Return and the problem is solved. No shock, not the neon is glowing.
But, my problem is, I want to use this in locations, where the earthing will be a problem. How I can rectify this issue?
I want to have the earthing as an option as well with the solution.

Hi papaisou11
Good day!
Is there a proper isolation between primary circuit and secondary circuit? Meaning is the primary side and secondary side have enough spacing or separation?
Usually this is cause by the capacitor C4.
- Capacitor C4 should be a safety capacitor. Please advise if the C4 is a safety capacitor Y1?
- Please also advise if C4 is a 0.15nF capacitor based on the schematics.
Thanks

Hi,
This may be due to insufficient isolation between the transformer windings.
Can you include the transformer specifications along with the build diagram?
