30V,1A-LNKPH-419

TO PI EXPERT

  A. I could develop a 15W, 350mA LED driver model  with LNK417.

I am enclosing the result, which is more or less acceptable.

B. After that I have been struggling to develop a 12-LEDs, 700mA in series , but I could not stabilize with all possible tuning.      I have tried with 418 & 419. I tried your latest software (XL) and was following that. There was no line regulation & PF  below expectation. I am enclosing the printout of the software output.

C. Then I was trying to  simulate your DER286. The result was no way matching: (1) Inductance is 1588uH in place of 2072uH ( as in DER286 ), (2) CORE PQ2625 is not within PI-XLS designer, (3)Why should I suddenly change the VOR from 80 to 100? My design sheet is enclosed.

I TRY WITH REAL LEDs & NOT RESISTIVE LOAD.

Please help me to acheive (B).

The cross sectional area of EF30 is 0.6 cm^2, which is similar size of RM8 used in 15 W LED driver RD195.

The cross sectional area of PQ2620, which is used in 30 W LED driver DER286, is 1.2 cm^2.

Since the cross sectional area of EI30 is 1.1 cm^2, this core might be large enough for 30 W output using LNK419 as shown in DER286.
