Dear Technical Support,

I need to know the exact value of active voltage clamping in 2SP0320T2A0-2MBI1000VXB-170E-50 driver. I have read the datasheet and some of your Application Notes and I couldn't find it.

Regards.

Dear allamaza

Thank you for your question. Active clamping limit for 2SP0320T2A0-2MBI1000VXB-170E-50 is approx. 1320V.

Dear Technical Support,

I appreciate the help you have provided me, thank you. I have another question about the Active Clamping limit in 2SP0320T2A0-2MBI1000VXB-170E-50. Is it possible to increase that limit (1320 V) up to 1650 V with the same performance and safety for the gate-driver? In my application, the IGBTs are always working under the Safe Operation Area.

Regards.

Dear allamaza

Thank you for your question. Theoretically speaking, it is possible but it is not recommended (as it is potential risk to IGBT) to go up to 1650 V for a 1700 V IGBT. It would be advisable to have the limit slightly higher (~10%) than the  DC link voltage.
