What is happen when SBD and VCC pin is short for LNK4114D

Dear expert,

       Thanks for your rare time,Using LNK4114D design output specs 12V 1A,What is happen when SBD and VCC pin is short ?because Don't find abnormal situation at test line 。Thanks!

Thank you for using Power Integrations product in your design. 

It's possible that no fault protection scheme would happen in shorting the SBD and VCC pins since we're working on a low power design. Your BD pin has enough current to fully drive your selected switch/FET. Page 6 of the device datasheet, under section Supplementary Base Drive (LNK40x3D, LNK4114D, LNK4214D), states that the function of BSD is it supplements current to the base drive to optimize the switching bipolar transistor turn-on and turn-off in high power applications.  

We still recommend to use Supplementary Base Drive resistor on your design. We hope this resolves your inquiry. Feel free to reach us if you have another question.
