TOP259EN design with large inrush requirement

We have a straightforward design using the TOP259EN.  Produces 26V / 3.5 A.  It performs well. There is a switchable load, however, that is highly inductive.  When switched on there is an inrush current of approx 16 A for 300 ms.  EDIT: We were able to increase the inrush current without driving the TOP259EN into reset.

Hi,

Thank you for showing interest in Power Integrations' products. You may use a similar circuit as shown in the attached image.
The circuit will allow the output voltage to dip temporarily and allow increased output current (inrush current) for an inductive load.
Once the inrush current duration is over, the output voltage will go back to regulation.
